Cultural Paris weekend breaks

Paris weekend breaks
Paris or the city of love known to most is a beautiful place but can seem overwhelming and can confuse most on what to do. The first thing to do when going to Paris is see r. The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Fair 1889 of the French Revolution. The tower is 300 meters and after climbing to the top the vision you see stretches sixty five kilometers which is about forty miles. Usually to enhance the experience people stop by Alain Ducasse and pick up red wine and food to have a tower top picnic.
The next best thing to the Eiffel Tower is visiting the Louvre. There is a variety of art that is Greek, Roman, Renaissance and Egyptian. There are three wings that contain the art and the most popular art pieces are Ruben's paintings for the Medici Cycle, Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Delacroix's Liberty and Marly's Horses.
Another weekend Paris site to see is the Cathedrale Notre-Dame. It was built in 1163 and has been restored since the damage of the French Revolution. The beautiful aspects of Notre Dame are the windows with roses, the tympanums and rows of saints, the birds and the beasts over the balustrade. A must have after appreciating the beauty of the Cathedrale is the famous ice cream with its natural but delicious ingredients.
For the lovers of literature a walk through the Cimetiere du Montparnasse is a breathtaking sight. Seeing the graves of writers like Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre would bring to mind the great writings of these philosophers. Also the shops nearby like Les Editeaurs and Les Deux Magots are good if someone is looking for timeless or new literature.
If your favorite music is heavy metal then you would love an evening at the club Les Catacombes. Besides the music there are the bones of Robespierre and other citizens sixy feet below and is a sight to behold. A popular weekend Jazz spot is the Caveau de la Huchette. The Caveau has been open for sixty years and has housed performances from stars like Herbie Hancock and Kenny Burrell.
Last but certainly not least, when you think of Paris you have to include the Moulin Rouge. This is another weekend Paris must do. Watch over fifty Doriss Dancers entertain you with dancing, costumes, feathers, sequins and rhinestones. You can also buy Moulin Rouge memorabilia like caps, t-shirts, DVDs, Jewels and posters.
